Since
their commissioning in the late 1950s, the five airwings of the Marineflieger
have operated from five different airbases in northern Germany.
All of these airfields have a long standing tradition as they all
saw military action in World War 2 and some even in the Great War
between 1914 and 1918. With the exception of one - Nordholz in Niedersachsen
- all of the bases are situated in the province of Schleswig-Holstein.
These
airbases are:
[Eggebek]
[Kiel-Holtenau] [Nordholz]
[Schleswig-Jagel] [Westerland/Sylt]
