From entering the Navy to becoming a fully qualified pilot takes between 40 and 53 months, depending on the type of aircraft.

What do I have to fullfill to apply for becoming a pilot in the German Navy ?

• age between 17 and 25 years
• German nationality according to the German "Grundgesetz"
• "allgemeine/fachgebundene Hochschulreife" or
• "Fachhochschulreife" or
• "Realschulabschluss" and "abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung" or a "Unteroffiziersausbildung" with promotion to Maat
• "Offiziereignung und Fliegertauglichkeit"

Pilottraining can be split into three groups:

• Jet pilot
• Helicopter pilot and
• Prop pilot.
